It is 125 kilometres long in total, and you can join or leave the trail at any point along the way.

The route follows a flat stretch of the Mura River and the difference in height from start to finish is slight throughout, making it an easy ride. It starts at the border crossing with Austria in Trate. From here to Veržej it goes along the route Trate – Zgornje Konjišče – Črnci – Apače – Segovci – Lutverci – Podgrad – Gornja Radgona – Mele – Šratovci – Radenci – Turjanci – Hrastje Mota – Vučja vas – Stara Nova vas – Veržej – Banovci. Here we recommend a visit to Babič Mill on the Mura, the Duo Handicraft Centre, and relaxation and pampering at the Banovci Spa. The last leg of the route takes you through Krapje (we recommend a visit to the Tigeli Beekeeping Museum), Cven, Moto, Razkrižje (with an energy trail) and finally through Šafarsko to Gibina near the Croatian border.
